What is dental prosthetics

Dental prosthetics deals with recovery of lost teeth. When constructing and making replacements it strives towards better funcionality, durability and aesthetics.

Solidity and endurance of modern materials and contemporary methods enable fixed, mobile and combined constructions that are adaptable to each patient and their functional and aesthetic demands. Technology improvement has brought aesthetics almost to perfection and the appearance is almost identical to a natural one.

Modern prosthetics has its standards and searches for the most adequate solutions. It strives towards making fixed prosthetic constructions (instead of mobile dentures that are daily removed from patient's mouth) and towards decreasing of usage of materials that contain metal. A mobile denture is a better solution when there are reasons against fixed prosthetics and they depend on position, arrangement and number of lost teeth.

In our own dental technique laboratory we construct all kinds of fixed and mobile teeth replacements, simple and complexed.

Fixed prosthetics

Prosthetic replacements that are permanently fixed in patient's mouth (a patient can't remove it by himself).

It involves construction of crowns and bridges, expanders, inlays, onlays and overlays and other tooth replacements that are permanently fixed in patient's mouth.

CROWN – a fixed prosthetic replacement that covers a tooth crown and it is aesthetically very positive. Both functionally and aesthetically, a crown imitates a natural tooth crown

BRIDGE – a fixed replacement for one or more teeth in a row. A bridge construction is a replacement for a partially toothless jaw in range of one to several teeth.

Crowns and bridges are being constructed of the best quality ceramics in our own dental technique laboratory. After sanding of teeth, our patient is given temporary teeth, because of aesthetic reasons, but also because sanded teeth have to be protected, so the patient can function normally until his permanent prosthetic is finally constructed.

Mobile prosthetics

Those are mobile prosthetic replacements that can be or have to be removed from the mouth mostly because of the correct oral hygiene.

Mobile prosthetic solutions involve:

  • complete (total) dentures

  • partial dentures

  • combined prosthetic solutions

Combined mobile and fixed prosthetic replacements are composed of ceramic bridge that carries partial denture with help of vario-balls, so the connection between a denture and a bridge is invisible and aesthetically completely acceptable. If there is one or more teeth missing, one of the best solutions are dental implants.
